Persistent Naxalism Issue in India: Causes, Challenges and Remedies

What is naxalism?
Violent activities undertaken by communist groups following Maoist ideologies claiming to fight rural rebellion and people's war against government.

Seriousness and spread of naxalism in India:
What are the causes of naxalism?
Rooted in Socio-economic inequalities, sense of injustice and resentment against government.

1. Landlessness and agrarian crisis

- Failure of land reforms
- Violation of tribal rights under Forest Rights act

2. Poverty and economic deprivation cycles
- Severe unemployment
- unequal distribution of resources 

3. Development deficit 
- Inadequate quality of education services 
- Disappointing health care services

4.Governance deficit
- Administrative apathy

This increases mistrust and discontent against government and pushes people to rather appealing ideology of naxalites.

Remedies:
